I was at a pawn shop the other day and picked up a beaten to **** old toolbox with the hinged front missing for 30 dollars. Didn't have a brand on it, but I did notice the telltale 'kr-56a' on the rear corner, left side along with the date '57 and "made in usa."
I'm not going to lie, the main reason I purchased it is because of the model number, because it's rough, but I knew it was a snapon, but, admittedly, I know nothing about snapon boxes.
On collectingsnapon.com it lists the kr56a as 1958, but mine says 1957. Is this normal?
Also, is there any value to this thing? Otherwise i'll be cleaning it up and painting it to match the rest of my boxes (army green)
I'll post photos later.
Thanks guys.
