Question: rhino liner on metal portable smallertoolbox bottom?

Anyone have a idea or suggest to use a rhino Bed liner on bottom of my carry around craftsman 4 drawers.'i just like to have a protect on bottom of box.

Which should I go first? Store to ask a question? Or just make my own??

I'd just get a can of the stuff, read the directions, and slap it on the bottom of the box.


It'll work on any metal, can't say about plastic because I can't recall what the directions on the can said word for word.

Rhino-liner doesn't come in a spray can. Its a process to apply and you need a special gun. People have the idea that bed liner is a do it yourself process, its not. Not unless you have the right tools and material, including exp.

There are no "good" real bed liners that come in a spray can.

The best thing you can do is get some duplicolor bed armor. People have good experiences with this stuff, it comes in quarts and you roll it on. Its really the only do-it-yourself stuff on the market that works.

Not a bad idea though.

Ive seen almost every spray in bed liners over the years doing spray in liners myself. I can say that no DIY compares to a professional job. What I would try to do is find someone or some business who would be willing to do your box while another vehicle. Depending on the size and how easy it to sand, wire tape, prep and spray the material is what will determine your cost. Someone could easily run a few coats over the area needed while doing a vehicle. Ive thought about doing custom jobs on the side and buying my own system but never got into it. Price would be up there to do single off custom work.

I had the bed in my pickup sprayed with Rhino Liner. When I was at their shop I talked to them about using it on other things, and they said they would spray it on pretty much anything people wanted to bring in. At the time, my sister in law was a designer for Bucket Boss, and as an experiment she had them spray the bottom of a couple canvas tool bags - it came out real nice.

As long as you don't want a custom color, I'd think they could just spray the bottom of your box with their standard black product while they were doing truck beds.

nate hit it on the head have it sent in with another job...id suggest you get friendly with the aftermarket salesmanager manager at your dealership (he sell's car alarms, sunroof, snakeoil, and RHINO LINERS) or the service guy who maybe arrainges that stuff. Ask him to send you box in next time he has a truck done... most places do this (liners) before Customer delivery but it may vary... it wont cost anything but buy the guy a cup of coffee, lunch or a beer or something it goes along way... i sold gmc trucks some years back and we did stuff like that for eachother all the time.
