Hello all!
Longtime lurker, first time poster.

I just built a new garage in my backyard in central Illinois. Over the weekend I ran wire, insulated and dry walled just the walls.

This morning I noticed that I can see condensation outside of the building to the point I could see all the stud lines....my question is this normal?

No tyvek was used...but that wouldn't make a difference because that is an air control...right?

Found this through a Google search...

I predict that there is not a major issue with seeing the stud locations on a frosty morning.

It is common here to see the stud pattern through hardie or vinyl siding in the mornings. It is just the U-value difference between a 2x4 and a fiberglass insulated cavity.
R-4 or 5 for the stud vs. R-13 for the insulation.
It seems that the studs allow more heat to pass and keep that spot just above the dew point, and dew collects where the insulation does not allow the heat to pass as efficiently.
Or just enough heat escapes to warm the exterior of the stud location to take the frost off.

I can see it in many places in the area in the morning, on homes that I am sure are insulated and wrapped.

The matter of possible air infiltration is a totally separate issue.

yeah...it's a hell of jump to get in there too...but I manage.
