I have questions about the Home Depot Milwaukee Hack. The purpose of the hack is to get a better price on the free tool. There are numerous ways to implement the hack. What is the best way to do the hack?

I have added the following to my online cart.

1. M18 18-Volt Lithium-Ion High Output Starter Kit with Two 6.0 Ah Battery and Charger = Ship to home. None in store.
2. Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless HACKZALL Reciprocating Saw (Tool-Only) = Should I ship this tool to home or pick up in store?

Then after I make the online purchase, I go to "Online Orders" and click "Cancel" for the Two 6.0 Ah Battery and Charger since I only want the Hackzall. Is this the best way to cancel or should I wait for the Two 6.0 Ah Battery and Charger to be delivered and then return it in store?

Ship the batteries and pickup the tool in store.
If the tool is ready for pickup before the batteries ship then pick it up and cancel the shipment.
If the batteries ship first just return them when they arrive.

For an extra hack, I order through the Gasbuddy app to get a few cents back when I fuel up, but it's basically the same as ordering through their website. It's something like 2% for HD, but with a $100 order it's a free half-gal. nowadays

I did this last week with the M12 Bluetooth speaker, where I chose to pick up the speaker in-store and shipped the free battery to my house. As soon as I ordered, I just went back to cancel the speaker with no problems.

I have checked out, put the keep item in my car and walked back into returns to return the unwanted item.

You can do any of the options. The only time you can't cancel one item, is if you choose both for shipping.

You are already getting a deal, so try to set the batteries/tool up to be canceled as not to waste shipping resources, after all it does all add up eventually.

I kind of agree with a post I just deleted... I don't know how I feel about this "hack" morally. Like, this doesn't seem so cool to me fellas...
