Questions about the OTC Genisys Touch.

Hello, I just purchased a set of used scan tools, and I had a few questions.

First up is this one.
Its an older one, an OCT Genisys EVO. Its an all in one that came with a dead battery and version 4.0 software. Its works, at least somewhat but is SLOW, and the buttons are very hard to push. is this and issue with these or do I just have a dud? Is it worth buying the version 5.0 software and a battery or should I just resell it? Does anyone know if OTC still supports this unit?

The Newer Unit is a very nice looking OTC Genisys Touch. Its complete with the original box, scope, tpms unit, and blue tooth scan tool.
Its a nice scan tool, but is also slow and often doesn't seem to want to connect to the internet. I updated the firmware and the software and even the bios, but its still acting up from time to time.
Is this a decent high end scan tool, or am I better off trading it for a Maxisys?

The other big question I have about this unit is about the subscription. I was able to update the software to the latest release (2016 cars) and when I hook it up to my 3 cars I seem to be able to do just about everything possible (when it connects that is...) So my question is what would the $700.00 annual subscription get me with this unit? I seem to have the latest software and can do all the things this scanner is able to do so why spend the extra 7K a year???

If you all could give me some heads up on these two units, and anyone full or part time general techs that use them let me know what you think.

I've been lusting after a Autel Maxisys MS906 since it came out, but these two units fell into my lap at a great price so I thought I'd give them each a bit of a chance before flipping them for the MS906.

Thanks in advance for any help or info you can give me as there is not much info on these two on the net.

I tried like crazy to get the touch to drop out of its software and show me the windows system underneath it so I could try and diagnose the wireless issues, but I can't even find any info on that!

Anyone? I was really hoping someone had some info on these two models.

The Evo seems to have been much more popular then the Touch, but I'm starting to think its hopelessly outdated for todays uses.

The touch on the other hand seems to be a first class modern tool, but it either has software issues or mine is a dud.

And I'd still love to know what extras a subscription will get you with the touch as I was able to update mine to the latest software without it.
