Ok , my question has to do with in floor radiant users who have scissor trusses over a portion of their garages. I?m thinking about building and want to know if I have a normal ceiling height of about 8? walls plus three block high (24?) so I?d have about 10? ceiling heights in the main part and a cathedrial type with the scissor trusses over the last bay. I have existing house and am going to build attached with a 28? X 40? in the plans and the last bay being approx 28? X 14? or so. I?m wandering if I must regulate the zone at a different flow to allow for the additional ceiling height? Or do I just install ceiling fans to drive the heat down from the ceiling to warm the end of the garage? Their will be no partitions in the garage build only open space thru-out.

Ok, first I edited your post I quoted to hopefully make sense of it. :)

You could get manifolds that have flow controllers built into them, but as far as ceiling height, it won't really make a difference.

Your heat is coming from the floor and moving up. If your ceiling is 100' or 20', the bottom 6-7' you are working in is going to be the same temp.

The main part of my house has a 15' ceiling. The floor right now is 72* and the ceiling is 71*.

I have a 30 X 32 garage with a 12'6" ceiling, 1000' of 1/2" pex in the 8" concrete floor, in 2 zones. The difference between the floor and ceiling is only 2 degrees. I have a couple industrial ceiling fans in there, but only use them in the summer for some breeze.

I'm seeing the same in my shop, 30x40 seperated into 2 rooms/2 zones, one with 8' ceiling, the rest is 12'. Poking around with a temp gun, there's only about 2* differrence between the floor and ceiling, the floor being warmer.
It's another of the neat parts of radiant floor, it works different than forced air and in the right ways for our uses. This is why most will tell you that you can get by with much lower thermostat settings than with forced air, no drafts and no warm/cold temp variances.

Same here. The front part of my shop is 16' to the high point and the back part is 9'. I only use the ceiling fan in the summer as well.
