i have a 56x32 pole building that I've decided to make my workshop. I'll pour a pad in just over half of it and the size will be 32x32. Forms will be strapped to the inside of the poles and they'll be pressure treated so they can stay there. I'll put 2" extruded polystyrene high density down first...
Only the wall dividing the building will be ON the cement, and that weight will only be the wall itself, no rafter support- so I'm thinking 12" x 12" thickened edge here and I'm still not sure if I will bother thickening the edge around the other 3 walls... any suggestions??? how is rebar done in a thickened edge? 2 bars? would it be recommended to use 1/2" rebar throughout the whole pad?
Next how should I run my rebar? I realize rebar does it's job best when it's not in center, so I'm thinking if my pad is 5" then I'll put it at 2" from bottom.
Then should I lay the tubing right on top? or stand it off so that it's closer to the surface- (I gather it should be no deeper than 2 or 2.5 inches from surface).
Thanks for any advice guys!!
