Apologies for the rant - question to follow...
We would like to install screens on an outdoor building. The doorway sizes are 9 x 6 and 9 x 5.
Just got off the phone with two different companies specializing in retractable screens.
Both companies quoted me just north of $8000 for motorized versions. I asked about manual versions (would have been fine with us) but they claimed that the cost difference was so small it wasn't worth it (which I find hard to believe). Are they insane? Really? Think they're reading from the same script? Can you spell collusion?
I'm so pissed I could spit nails right now. I didn't mention that it was for a pool house (because then they think you're rich and will spend anything), but I guess they just looked up my address on Google Earth and saw the swimming pool and pool house.
I could get two motorized double-wide garage door screens for less than what I was quoted.
I don't mind spending money if I think it's justified.
Honestly, I'd almost be willing to pay that inflated price if someone could justify the cost.
But these ARE - JUST - SCREENS. How much could each item actually cost to make?

Question - does anyone know of any companies that will sell custom-size pull-down screens for a more affordable price?
