I completed the survey and wanted to say thanks for the chance to win the tap and die set. With that said I think the survey would better benefit home and hobby users since I think its unlikely that very many professional tool users would use the case the sockets came in regardless of how they are stored in it.

Thank you for the opportunity. I agree somewhat. I use the cases for screwdriver bit sets (my BP and Mac ones), and also use them for specialty tools. But, for sockets and wrenches I prefer my own layout.

Kind of surprised to find a product research and development engineer wasn't a professional.

Both items are for consumers, not even the most casual "professional" tool user.

I completed the survey but, you may want consider developing a modular tray sytem that fits into standard rollaways that carries a wide selection of common used tools similiar to the Facom versions and makes better use of space than the current Craftsman tray sets.
When can we expect to see more previews of soon to be released Gearwrench products?

I beg to differ as to whether a "professional" would use a case simular to either type.There are those trades-primarily construction and service repair work- that work out of trucks and vans or even large site toolbins.In this type of work,often with multiple users of the same tools,the only efficient way to track and organize small tools is with custom fitted cases such as shown.These cases can be used much as a foamed and fiited aircraft mechanics box-any missing/misplaced tools can be quickly spotted and replaced,plus the case makes it easy to sign in/out.In a service truck situation,these cases are much easier to store and carry to a job than if a regular mechanics box was mounted in the truck.

This research is not being done for GearWrench... a large retail customer is asking the question regarding blow molded cases.

Took the survey, wasnt sure what it meant by professional at the end?

I like the carry case for some uses, i keep a craftsman set like that in my car for road repairs or if im going over a buddys house and we need some extra tools. Also what I forgot to metion in the survey is that the craftsman case i have has some extra storage space for additonal tools, i keep a 1/2 breaker bar and some universals in there just in case.

Took the survey and thanks. As far as the tap & die set above.....I like the looks of the die stocks As a matter of fact, the more I look at it I really like the complete set.

I like the way my snap on box is for my 1/4" socket/wrench set; two diff ways of doing and organizing things!

This assumes the use of socket rail in conjunction with spaces for common tools; the top "space" provides some customization.

This one is not customizable but also has each item organized and easily removable; especially with greasy/oily hands! The items are not "locked in" their place but they also do not fall out when closed; they stay where they should be! There is logical positioning for metric/standard both separated; left and right!

You might look at Snap-On's Bluepoint line; they have things positioned in different ways in their boxes but the predominant approach seems to be horizontal bottom with sockets and vertical top with wrenches/ratchets. I guess it doesn't hurt to see what the competition has done or is already doing....

I dislike both types of cases, but prefer the 1st option since it's easier to open on a flat surface. The 2nd type looks awkward to open.

The first choice looks VERY similar to a Craftsman case I own. The second choice looks like the cheap Chinese import **** you find really cheap at Wal-Mart.

I have had Craftsman tools handed down in my family that are over 40 years old and still going strong. I picked a particular blow-molded Craftsman case that I chose specifically, to keep those tools in their best shape. I like the sockets horizontal, although my deep & semi-deep sockets have to go the other way. My Craftsman case also has additional storage below, and I put in all the pieces that didn't fit into that case, which is one of those "purchase separately" deals. Not to mention the plastic case, specifically designed to hold my tools, does not ever rust on them. Tool storage is too often overlooked. Kudos to Gear Wrench for getting opinions from us.

I also have a set of Gear Wrench in Standard and one in Metric, got them when they first started selling at Sears. They go well with my Craftsman tools, and I have gotten several years of quality use out of them with no hassles whatsoever. I really like the design of this set.
