Quick and easy lighting layout question

Using the Visual Interior tool with the "MRSL L48 5000LM FST MVOLT GZ10 30K 80CRI MS1" product I get a populated layout (see picture below).

I use my garage for automotive repair, and the occasional full paint correction.

So for the quick and easy question.. should I hang the lights at the orientation shown from the populated layout? Or should I move them 90 degrees and use that one? (see picture below)

I have already purchsed
LED Housings: (x15) Maxlite LSS2XT8USE4803
LED Bulbs: (x30) GLLUSA GL07103-3M(5000K) 48" 18W LED T8

I've been a long time browser on this forum, and have gone through Platonic Solids threads in their entirety multiple times.

Thanks for your help.

Parallel to and in-between cars.

Or something like below: (except with 15 fixtures put 3 in each row and column. Note: fixtures are 2ft from walls to get light between cars and walls)

Here's a layout based on 4ft strip lights from post 1 of best light fixture thread.

Space is assumed to be 20ft square, 9ft ceiling. Click on image for larger view.

Here's the Dialux report (link).

I wasn't expecting such a speedy response, so for that I'm greatly thankful.

What sort of spacing should I have between the rows and columns?

To answer that question would require actual work which I don't have time for right now.

Completely understandable, your threads have been help enough.

I'll work off of what you said and will post up pictures when I finish this weekend.

Here you go: Dialux Report (link). This is about as even as I can get with 15 fixtures and maintaining shadow free with 2 cars in the garage. Fixtures are 2.25 ft from walls. You will have bright spots on the walls, but that's the sacrifice you make for lower ceiling and no shadows.

Installing the lights now. Thanks again for the layout.
