Anyone know if you can get male and female quick connects for 1/2 inch rubber air hose?

No point spending money on 1/2 inch hose, and using 1/4 or 3/8 connectors.

Thanks.

Yes you can find and purchase 1/2“ male and female quick connects but keep in mind the 2 most common hose ends are 1/4 and 3/8. So make sure that your 1/2“ hose has 1/2” threaded ends Not 3/8.

That's simply not true. Much of the flow restriction in an air system is due to the friction between the air and the walls of the pipe/hose, which is amplified over long distances. Short, intermittent restrictions like fittings will have some (small) impact on flow at typical flow rates and pressures but nothing close to the impact of the hose diameter.

In short, a 1/2" hose with 1/4" fittings will still flow more more than a 3/8" hose with 1/4" fittings and much more than a 1/4" hose with 1/4" fittings.

There are some small gains to having larger fittings, especially if you have a lot of them in your system, but it's improper to say there's "no point" in having a larger hose with smaller fittings.

Type V/Euro/HVLP (67 cfm) is available in 1/4" and 3/8" NPT.

Type H is similar, flowing 3 cfm fewer, but available in 1/2" NPT.

Type G is too heavy, unwieldy, and difficult to connect.

You're picking up and using an air tool but you think the connector is too heavy? We're talking ounces.

CEJN is the only brand that is reasonably priced and easy to find. MSC sells them. I have a whole shop based on CEJN connectors. Some are more than 20 years old and still don't link. My .500in hoses all have CEJN fittings on them.
