Quick Coupler - name the brand.

Does anyone know what brand of quick coupler will fit this fitting?

Call Astro and ask them. This looks like a radiator tester part. The pump included in the kit this came from should go right onto it. If the ****** threads into the adapter using the normal 1/4" NPT then simply remove the ****** and replace it with the coupler of your choice.

Already thought of that, but usually, products are just made for them by another party and they'll come back with "we don't know". Lets see what they say.

I have not found that to be the case with Astro. Any time I have needed assistance (rarely but it does happen) I have found them to be very helpful.

The "we don't know" in this case is simply an example of this coupler not having an industry wide accepted name. It's called a standard coolant pressure cap fitting and coolant pressure coupler internally here, not sure what anyone else calls it. But dimensions are attached, I havent seen this type used outside of this use.
If you call in and need a technical answer ask for product management or engineering, I can't ever recall getting a call and just responding with "we don't know" and leaving it at that. We make tools for some of the biggest brands out there, those brands' engineering staff would not accept a we don't know so my department is usually pretty well equipped to field questions.

The "we don't know" comes with dealing will all types of companies, not all, but some. Maybe it is because I am "private" individual.

Anyway, are any of your caps in your 78585 kit available seperately other than the 3 that are (I have the one pictured above)? I would need one for my 2017 Acura RDX sometime in the distant future.

As for the fitting, damn it just dawned on me last night that I can make one on my lathe. I'll do a search to see if they are available, but I'd sooner see what is available from Astro Pneumatic.

I tired, astro doesnt sell them individually. I wanted one to hook a pressure transducer or pulse sensor more easily into cooling systems. For the relatively low pressure a section of hose and a couple clamps work fine for me.

It seems some couplers used in automotive test equipment predate official names and have become industry standards without good documentation of what they actually are.

Not to worry. I'll buy a spare Acura RDX radiator cap and I'll make my own fitting on the lathe.

By the way, if you go to ebay, there are vendors that sell the caps but usually as a set. I do not need the set since I am not running a business.
