Had a gas tank dropped off and it's spring time so anything tractor related is ASAP on the repair. This fuel tank mounts between the fenders and had rotted out on both sides.
After washing the tank, cut out the rotten spots and made a template using craft paper. Transferred the pattern to the new sheet and cut it out with the Beverly. Used a tipping tool to chamfer the edge of the hole in the tank so the welds would be flush. No time to grind and planish on this project.
Welded in the patches. Filled and pressure tested the tank and out the door it went. Start to finish doing both sides was 4 hours. Everyone was happy.
