Quick feedback on SK warranty

Just wanted to share (especially since this seems to ebb and flow through the years) about my great SK warranty experience.

Sent in a broken socket and had it back in exactly 9 days from when I sent it in. Accounting for weekends and travel time they got it and sent out the new one within 1-2 days. Also had a note asking for a ratchet repair kit I needed and they included it as well.

Very happy. Also sent in some Channellocks on the same day and have yet to see anything almost 3 weeks later...

Channellock doesn't have a liberal warranty policy. Worn out and broken pliers are just that, worn out and broken, and don't entitle you to a free set. Just the way they operate which is the way a lot of tool companies outside of the US function. You would of had a much better shot just taking them to a home depot or some other big box store. Other than that drop them in the scrap bin and spend another $15-$20 for another pair that will last you many years.

While I agree they have a sustainable warranty policy (unlike Sears) you are assuming I sent in a worn tool. Tip broke off of a pair of cutters, a particular model not carried anywhere local. I'll update this thread when I hear back.

Channellock was very good to me, I had a pair of pliers that I needed to warranty, they shipped one out and I had it in under a week, no questions asked. I just sent an email, and it was handled.

I have also had good experience with SK warranty under IDEAL ownership.

Have a local brick and mortar store that is a dealer for both, haven't had to warranty much but have never had a problem warranting either brand there

Asked for some kits for my old ratchets---no problem, got them in two weeks, no charge. Great folks.

Got the Channellocks today, took three weeks. Happy to have a new pair, although 3 weeks seems long if you only have 1 pair of something. I do wish Channellock still stamped tools instead of laser etching. Happy altogether FWIW.
