Gents,
Just tore out the old shelving/**** in the garage from my new home. Old boy has some shady electrical that I still need to have looked at. I'm deploying shortly and don't have the time to build shelves and a workbench myself. What would you recommend to get the shop in order in a hurry so it's ready to rock when I return? I'm looking at Gladiator or Edsal 77" shelving and possibly a Gladiator workbench to sit over my HF 44" tool chest to start. Appreciate any thoughts!

My suggestion is to wait till you return prior to buying any shelving, bench, etc. Take your time away to think over how you want your garage to look. I have constantly changed my ideas how i want my garage laid out. If you rush into it, you may regret it later. Stay safe while deployed !

Thanks, I appreciate what you're saying. However, I suffer from paralysis by analysis and this isn't my 'forever' home. I'd just like a space that can store the Christmas stuff as well as work on the truck/home projects. Thanks for the well-wishes!

I would suggest the metal shelves that click together for storage, the heavy duty ones, not the cheapies. For a workbench, build it yourself. Good way to hone skills and it will be EXACTLY what you want.

Its super easy to build a sturdy work bench out of 2x4's with a couple 3/4" sheets of ply or MDF as a nice top. If you look on here or google it you will find plenty of good examples and tons of plans to follow. Just take a plan and customize it for yourself. I, for instance, built a work bench keeping in mind my hobbies of wood working and fly tying. Thanks for your service!
