Hey Garagers,

I just finished applying Rustoleum Rock Solid Metallic in Copper Pot. I love it. I messed up by taping the broom finished cement with painters tape so when I was painting the face of the lip the paint pooled and leaked on to the apron. I would like to install a threshold product of some sort, and would prefer it ramped but I have only 1.5 inches to deal with, so it would need to be fairly triangular, which is fine. I have not been able to locate any product like this. Does anyone here have an idea for me? Pics are below so you see my problem, I hope i attached them correctly. Looking forward to your thoughts.

I would just use one of these and rub along the edge where the paint seeped out, until the unwanted bobs of paint is mostly gone. Nature will get rid of any specks left behind eventually. JMO

Or get something like this and cut it to fit where it will be square butted against the paint drip edge. Expensive solution for a glue down threshold job. http://www.herringtoncatalog.com/products/garage-door-threshold-seals?gdftrk=gdfV25409_a_7c2789_a_7c12105_a_7cLY053&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Bing%20Product%20Ads(BSC)&utm_term=1101201914621&utm_content=Herrington%20Catalog

Or find aluminum ramp material which means drilling and anchoring it down. Either are a lot of work and expense. The use of a paint stripper will cause the "wrinkling back" of the paint on the floor edge. Good luck. JMO

I like it but wondering if it will change cement color at entrance? I also do not know if that will work around garage door frame area. It might be too big. I also thought some kind of strip might look nice. I appreciate your thoughts. What is that called? A cement sander?

Thanks. I love it. Still going to put a clear coat with anti skid on it. Im really hoping someone can chime in on a transitional flooring solution instead of paint removal because i think it will be a good border, especially since i plan on putting base along the walls.

Off topic, and I am sorry. But that looks AWESOME, I've been thinking of doing the same thing in my garage. How big of a pain in the rear is it to prep etc...?

Huge, but worth it. I replaced half the concrete in my garage because it was cracking, ground out the rest, cleaned and degreased, etched, then applied the first coat. I had bubbles from outgassing appear after so I sanded those down and applied a second coat. I am now going to clear coat and anti skid. I love it. Track lighting and base are next. I hate all the base choices I have seen. Seen anything that pops?

I really don't like that lip between the 2 pads. Is there a chance you could have some sheet steel slightly bent to smooth out the transition? toss in 4 cement anchors per side and call it good. It will hide the coating oopses.

To answer your question, I might think about a composite (trex deck or similar 2"x) ripped to the size and angle I wanted? How high is that lip?
