Quick help -- Setting up Rolair compressor

I have a brand new Rolair Bull (FC2002) compressor that I'm setting up for the first time. It's my first time using a compressor and I'm having trouble figuring out how to set it up.

Anyone that have this model can tell me where the hose connects? There is a port with a spring loaded safety valve screwed in. Do I unscrew that valve and connect the hose to that port?

When I unscrew the valve and turn on the motor, air doesn't seem to be flowing out of anywhere except the cold start valve on the motor. Is this normal? Because of this I can't get the tanks to pressurize.

I'm in the middle of a flooring project and can't figure this out so any help would be greatly appreciated! I can post pictures if it would be helpful.

I don't have a Rolair compressor, but they are all pretty much the same.

From the only picture I could find on-line, it looks like the output hose plugs into the port that the red arrow is indicating:

You may need to add the proper fitting to your hose, or your compressor: but the hose will usually hook up to someplace near the regulator dials on small compressors like this.

Matt

ps- no air should flow out of the compressor unless you are using a tool or something; it should hold pressure even without a hose connected- so make sure all the drain valve screws are tight.

I have an FC2002, the air outlet is on the back of the regulator, opposite the gauge. It won't hold pressure with nothing connected (a hose+tool, ball valve, or quick connect coupler).

The owner's manual is on Rolair's website, btw:
