I have a BL 3500 and it will not go down. I looked online and it recommends 40-50 psi in the air cylinders but my cylinders do not have schrader valves just a brass cap. It's a 2014 model, can I just screw in some schrader valves and pump it up to solve the problem? I haven't used it in years so air could have leaked out I guess?

Check the pump and wiring, make sure everything is snug and as it should be.

Are you able to support the car with jackstands/two floor jacks to get it off of QuickJack?

There's not a schrader under the brass cap? Hmmm? I didn't think mine (I have the 5000 model) required that kind of air pressure. I was thinking 15psi off the top of my head. It's not been perfect and have had to operate the pump assy at an angle to get the air out when one side doesn't go up properly etc.

I got the car off and I can hear a click when I push the "down" button which I assume is the valve opening to allow oil back into the reservoir. From the manual it seems like the air cylinders need to be charged to push the oil out / allow the jacks to lower. I think the cylinders were charged at the factory as there is no schrader valve to fill them. If I stand on the jacks and hold the "down" button nothing happens.

The brass cap is threaded into the air cylinder, no filling valve of any sort. The manual says the air cylinders need to be filled to 40-50 psi. Perhaps these cylinders were prefilled at the factory. I used the jack a few years ago and it worked fine so I'm assuming the air has leaked out.

You must have bought the budget version, it is a Quick Jack, but no release. The more expensive version is Quick Jack AND Quick Release

You need weight on it to allow it to come back down, it wont do it unladen, get 2 friends to stand on it while you press the down button.

^^^^ This.

My BL-5000SLX frames won't flatten the last few inches on their own, although I'll admit that I don't always keep the air assist cylinders at the recommended 40 PSI (they tend to leak down quickly).

But it's not to difficult to use just my weight to flatten them while depressing the "down" button; it doesn't need two of me to accomplish this.
