quick mg325 question

I bought a snapon mg325 today. First thing I did when I got off the truck was remove the part the fitting goes into, install the muffler, and put it back together, then tried to use it. It seemed to have a slow "leak" reason I said "leak" is because its not a typical high pitched air leak sound, just a slow venting of air out of the exhaust. Is this normal?. Im kinda confused as to why a brand new one would do this.

Thanks.

did you install the trigger onto the tip valve correctly?
Are you sure its not the coupler thats leaking?
Im not terribly familiar with SO air tools, IR's are my territory :headscrat

Good question, im not sure. I do know there was a spring and something else "down in there" but I had no clue I had to fool with them any. As for the coupler its a good possibility, directions said something like remove coupler, remove cover, install muffler, reinstall coupler torquing to ***. I just tightened it up real good with a wrench and called it a day. I did notice there was no o-ring etc and it looked like the threads had some sealant from the factory. So maybe that is indeed the issue?

I held the impact upside down, removed 30, pulled 33b off, shoved 33a in the hole, put everything back together. If that makes any sense?

Sounds like the SO 1/2 impact I bought a long time ago. It was the yellow covered one they were promoting like sliced bread at the time. Had a valve in front of the trigger to reduce noise or whatever. Leaked all the time from day one. SO finally took it back after 3 weeks of complaining and threatening to not pay my corp. account until they fixed it.

 I hope thats not the issue. Ive had too many problems with snapon-on over the last month or so, im about to just flat out give up on them. Ill 2x check the coupler and such tomorrow at work and let you guys know what I figure out. Its nothing too bad, noticeable etc but at the same time a brand new $350 tool shouldnt leak like that if you ask me.
