hey guys, I haven't been on here in awhile. been working on my shop and trying to get the machines I want to keep in and sell the rest. anyhow, I ran into a miller m-25 gun with 12ft of lead for basically free. just missing the trigger and the consumables. would it fit my millermatic 185? would it be even worth changing out? or just sell the damn thing on flea-bay?

It should fit just fine. As for worth keeping. Depends how hard you are on your mig gun and if you want to dedicate the storage space for the potential need. A number of years ago my weld shop had one on drastic discount that I picked up for a "might need it" day for my MM210. After moving it around a few years I finally sold it as I could not see a potential need in the future. Haven't regretted that decision....yet. I also keep a cover on the mig gun and don't throw the gun around so.... :dunno:

Nice shop, BTW.

You're welcome. I made a jig to spiral cut a garden hose and then coiled that over the mig gun. I'm certainty not hard on it, but it keeps from getting rashed up when on the ground. One thing that I had to chuckle about is when they switched from the straight out gun design to the now angled down gun connection. Lincoln got there first, but then miller acted like it was the only way to produce a working feeder. :wtf: I'm just always careful not to catch it with my knee/dolly or other. If they somehow had a quick disconnect without having to re feed the wire. IF I ever happen to destroy the M25 that is on there, I will most likely jump up to a more robust gun.

I've seen some guys that think the mig gun/cable double as a leash for the machine!!!

Reference pic, thought I posted it on here before
