Quick outdoor electric question

I am installing a paver patio with 2 light post. I plan on running 12-2 outdoor wire inside of 3/4 electrical conduit from my shop. It will be buried and run inside of a concrete footer for the outdoor fireplace. I plan on using all outdoor rated materials for the outlet and light switch.

Anyone see any issues with this plan? I know there are issues with insulated wire inside of conduit, but just wondering about my plans. I am hoping the 3/4 inch will provide protection and be large enough not to cause any issues with the wire.

Just pull THWN. Pulling UF cable through conduit is no fun.

12-2 w/grd UF, any UF for that matter is darn difficult to pull thru conduit, especially PVC conduit. Use lots of lube and have someone pushing while you pull the fish tape. Or as noted, just use individual wires.

Be sure and use WR rated GFCI receptacles. They will be marked as such right on the front of them.

Thanks, i have pulled it before (pain) and plan on doing it one 10' section at a time. Installing the wire as i put the conduit together. Thanks for the tip on the receptacles!

Do the smart thing, leave the UF on the shelf use THWN conductors in the PVC, the PVC needs to be installed as a complete system then pull conductors to be compliant w/ code requirements.

Thats a bad idea. The glue could damage the insulation.

Why make things harder on youreself than they have to be. Glue the conduit together running a pull string through as u assemble the sections and then use THWN and be done with it!

Looks like THWN might be the way to go. Definitely want to be in code as I have a lot invested in all my other projects being in code. Was not aware that UF was not code compliant, or maybe the way I was going to join the pvc is not code, either way Thanks!!

Wait backup. No one said UF is not code compliant in conduit. UF-b and NM-b most definitely can be ran in conduit. Its just a PITA and therefore not advisable!

Whats not code compliant is running the wire through the conduit as u glue it. Norcal already pointed this out. Next time try to read more carefully!

The reason that you don't want to install the wire as you run the conduit is so you could replace the wire in the future, imagine trying to pull a bunch of UF cable out and replace it after everything is together.
