I decided to go with a heavy broadcast of this flake mix. Would you use a light gray or off white base?

I don't know what I like. This is difficult when you're just looking at bits and pieces over the internet and can't see what the final result will look like.

From what I discovered, in my searching for my floor choice, when you are doing a full chip broadcast the actual color of the base coat epoxy is fairly irrelevant. The chips cover the entire floor so the epoxy base color doesn't really show. The experts can chime in but I don't think you could tell much difference between an off white and a light gray, with a full broadcast.

I'd like to do heavy. but not full, I think. I agree with what you're saying otherwise.

Its up to up but when they did mine I went with light flake but they where able to tint base to my house color..... which is a light white tan color. Idk where the contractor got it but I know its a solvent based product vs water based.

Ok.
Hard to tell from your sample what color chips you have selected & what color background is.
Perhaps you could request some chip samples & lay them out on colored construction paper to pick your background.

Go as light as possible or plan on doubling you light fixtures, light color also helps when you drop parts

Won't be a working garage. More of a show garage for this. Thus, the yellow.

I'm still leaning towards off white/yellow flake.

Almost by definition if you have a full broadcast of flakes (broadcast "to rejection) the underlying epoxy is completely covered. Say pink epoxy, with a full broadcast of black flakes when finished you wouldn't see a peek of pink. In the real world not every falke adheres, and there will be spots where you'll see the epoxy, so use an epoxy color that is similar or works with the flakes.

To figure out how much flake is needed to rejection multiply the square footage by 0.15, i.e. 500 ft2 would need 75 lbs. of flakes. If the flakes are smaller than 1/4 inch you may want to pump that up 10%.

Color choice is pretty subjective, but with a bright car - like yellow - a darker floor will really set it off nicely, IF (and that's a big IF) you have a very good lighting system.

If you can't make up your mind, do what many of our clients here on Garage Journal do... ask the wife.
