Quick R134a manifold charge hose end question

For my standard R134a manifold set, I brought it out after not using it for easily 10 years, and noticed the charge end (can end) of the yellow hose does NOT have a Schrader valve depressor. The rubber washer is there. I sure don't recall ever removing it (it was purchased new by me), and the can adapter does has the Schrader valve set inside the brass fitting.

Q. Does YOUR R134a yellow charge hose have a valve depressor built in?

My yellow hose has no depressor on the hose itself.

If you are having trouble getting refrigerant to flow, it is probably because your can tap adapter is not the right type for the newer self sealing cans.

Even with the right type adapter the new cans can be a PITA. I have been meaning to get a tap that pierces the side of the can since I have had so many difficulties with the valves on the self-sealing R134a cans.

Thanks @MAD , I've got the self-sealing can debacle "knowledge" well in check. I'm realizing I need this piece for my Johnson gauges. I have a call into them for some tech knowledge, as the competing Yellow Jacket version seems to be a different configured part. My neighbors gauges have the depressor like this image below. Looks like I have my answers.

I looked again and the original Mastercool yellow hose that came with my gauges has a brass valve in one end. The other yellow hose that I was using is open on both sides.

Hoses 10 old are probably hard and the gaskets brittle. Always used yellow jacket hoses when i was working. Bought a set of China hoses for like $30 i was surprise how nice they are. If a gauge hose doesn't open the schrader the depressor is adjustable. With needle nose pliers turn it ccw for more depression cw for less.
