Looking for a lift to do tire rotations, oil changes, brake work.I don't have enough ceiling height for two post lift(I have 10' ceiling).I'd appreciate any input on getting a QuickJack by Ranger Products vs. a scissor lift .
Thanks.

Do you intend to do any exhaust or driveshaft related stuff that would need a center part open under neath? Do you want to sink it in the floor or in any way mount it permanently, or put out when you need it? Do you have a certain height you need it to raise up to?

I just got my 3500# QuickJack in. I've wanted one for years and finally pulled the trigger.

I freaking love it.

It really is portable, fast, runs off the car battery, and gets high enough for nearly everything most people do in their cars. I highly recommend it.

Don't want to sink it in the floor.Only exhaust work would probably be downstream O2 sensor replacement.Oil changes, tire rotation,Trans fluid changes, brake work, under engine access, would be most of what I want to cover with the lift.

With a scissors lift you can get the car a lot higher than with the quick jacks. Its nice doing a brake job without having to bend down or sit on a creeper.

Downside to the scissors lifts is that most are 4-6" tall when collapsed, so some cars can't just drive over them. I use a 10' 2x10 on either side of mine to provide clearance.

I just posted how much I love my QuickJack. Here's my brothers lift.

It gets much higher and is only 4" high when collapsed. But it's $2500 compared to $895. Plus I love that I can bring mine to the race track.

Scissor... Car goes up straight. You can drop the engine trains out bottom easily. Need one with the center open tho so you can do all the center work also. Love mine:beer:
