Quietest 240 volt garage heater

Can anyone recommend a good and quiet heater for my 500 sq ft insulated shop? Im considering a 7.5 kw unit heater for quick warm ups although 5kw would probably suffice.I find my 240 watt construction heater which I occasionally use in the basement to be a little loud.

They all make some noise .. the higher output units I have encountered do make more noise.

I have two of the Qmark 220v heaters in one if my spaces -- one is a QPH4A 4000k/2667K the other is the common 2k/1.5k wall unit. They both have two output levels as well as a thermostat.

Electric baseboard is completely silent and is easy to control with a 220v wall thermostats

Are you going to keep the heat turned on at some level all the time? Baseboard heaters work fine if you're only going to set the heat back to 55 or 60 then crank it up when you're in the shop, but if you're going to turn it all the way off you need something with a blower.

Fairly quiet, works - G73, 5kW. Throws air a good distance, works well for 672 sq/ft after a bit, will run you out of 240 sw/ft. Was the only heater in my old 480 sq/ft shop.

Wattage is wattage regardless of a blower. It won't impact warmup time or anything like that. Hot spots can become a problem, but remember that a 2500W 240V baseboard heater is about 8' long and does a decent job of distributing the heat. A ceiling fan or 2 would resolve any hot spotting concerns and comes in handy for other purposes as well.

A forced air unit heater can provide more wattage of heat in a smaller footprint, so to speak, so he won't lose wall space for cabinets and stuff that you wouldn't be able to park in front of a baseboard heater.

Yes, anything without a blower will be physically larger. Anything with a blower is going to make noise. Tradeoffs.

I had no problem locating 2 x 2500W baseboards in my shop. Tho they're just installed as backup heat anyway - my primary heat source is a NG unit heater.

I have a Fahrenheat 7500 in my 620sf garage and the noise is not objectionable. Heats it well.

I can't tell when my minisplits are running unless I see the automatic vanes moving.

Also consider that when the temp stabilizes, the fan is only going to run once in a while. In really cold - like 30s~20s here - mine might run 15 minutes of every hour.

Lasko Silent Heater is a good option and it comes with a digital display. It is a 1500 watt convection heater and uses natural convection to circulate the air without making any noise. It will shut off automatically to prevent overheating, and it also has a safety switch if it tips over. If you prefer personal heater then you can try out Vornado SRTH.
