That is an old trick......a counter bored piece of bar stock will center your drill over a protruding stud. This set takes that idea a few steps further.....for $50.

I do like that idea of locking the guide on flush or recessed studs with thread locker...have to remember that one. I always looked for an adjacent threaded hole to lock the guide to.

Thanks for that link...but they seem to be "unavailable" everywhere, though.

I have had these for years. They work when I remember I have them. I think it is a great idea.
