I'm planning on rebuilding an older Quincy 5 Hp compressor and would like to paint it in the original paint color and try to find someone to make the older style decals. I know Quincy changed the paint color over the years and this compressor had a medium blue metallic paint. Anyone find a match for this? I guess i'm going to try one the decal makers, but wonder if anyone tried this and how it turned out. I want this to look the same as it was built, I'm assuming this was 1950's or 60's build. I know some of the earlier ones were gold.

I was wondering when the gold and blue colors gave way to each other. I recently sold a 1952 244, and it was originally a gold-ish color, which was under the more recent industrial green. Also, I am currently putting together a Quincy 390 from a local fire dept that dates to about the same 1975 era as I do, and it is also gold. Finally, I have a great running Quincy 330 in the basement garage that likely dates to the 40's, and I see leftover blue and also red in some of the nooks and crannies, but is mostly bare of paint, other than the cast iron gray I put on the head when I rebuilt it a few years ago.....mostly just to satisfy my curiosity of whether it was a 330 or a 340 model as it had no tag.
