I finally got my compressor wired up last weekend. While reading the manual for break in procedure it says that it should be run for 100 hours at full discharge to break in properly. Does this seem excessive. I worry about heat leaving it running wide open for that long.

What do you guys think about this? Would you do the 100 hour full discharge break in?

I would contact Quincy for clarification and installation guidance, they have a great group of guys answering the tech line and would probably enjoy learning about the GJ website. My Quincy compressor had break in oil, I changed it after the number of hours the manual specified of normal use, it may have been 100 hours. Looking back should have added an hour meter to the compressor to record how many hours it has been running. The tech guys helped me pick my compressor, quality compressor and great employees.

Mine came from the dealer already broken in and oil changed. The delivery guy said that they did that for all customers and it cut down on the return service calls for problems with new machines. That was 20+ years ago, when a dollar bought you a lot..
