I recently acquired a Quincy 216 compressor pump, and would like to know if there are any online locations where docs available for these older Quincy pumps?
I'd like to know what the CFM capability of this pump is, and just in case I need to rebuild it one day, I'd like to maybe find a tech/shop manual for it.

Model is 216-39

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks, but it doesn't work for me?
revbase.com appears to be a marketing site, and the link was to a login page for existing customers.

Humm... Hate when that happens...

Go to www.quincycompressor.com

Then, hover over the support tab at the top right of the screen and go to Instruction Manuals & Parts Books. That'll take you to the revbase site. Then search on QR and 216.

just keep googling quincy and the model number, there's several non propietary sites that list rebuild kits for these things. The number after the dash is the revision number, which you'll need to specify when ordering parts.

The sites also list the specs. I think I've got one, if not one just like it but a bit bigger that I haven't pressed into service yet. I have rebuilt a 310 though. I do know this one to be rebuildable and a very good unit.

A quick look found this: http://www.mesaequipment.com/Html/Products/Quincy/qr25_basic.html

I've got the 240... The 216 is a single stage unit. Nowadays it's pressure lubed, yours may or may not be depending on how old. It'll run between 1 1/2hp and 5hp, 400 to 900 rpm. From about 5 cfm (lower speed) to 10 cfm (higher speed).

Set the switch around 100 to 125 psi and let her rip. Havn't found the rebuild kit yet. If the bottom end looks good, you can take the head off and take it to a rebuild place and they'll rebuild the valves for a reasonable amount.

Steevo,

Your 216 has a typ HP range of 1 1/2 to 3 HP, has a 3" bore and a 2.50 stroke. It has 2 cyl with a min RPM of 400 and 4.74 ACFM at 100 PSI at 400 RPM.

The max RPM is 900 and has a ACFM of 10.70 at that RPM. The max intermit. press. is 100, it weighs 200 pounds and the dimensions are 17x13x21.

By the way, watch out for those guys from Chickamauga, GA. Most of them were 18 years old before they knew "damn" and "yankee" were two different words......

Just joined and know this is an old thread but wanted to say thanks for the info. My Quincy 216-4? (can't read the last number) needs gaskets under the valve covers and was able to source them with your help. Just wanted to ask how noisy is the 216 supposed to be? Its pressure fed lube with dual unloaders and it clicks and clacks like crazy. Also it starts pumping immediately if the system is at zero. Higher the tank pressure longer it takes to start pumping. Usually one cylinder then 30-60 seconds later the second. Its running at 900 rpm with 3hp and shutoff is at 120psi (when amp draw hits max motor rating without sf). Its running Amzoil synthetic compressor oil.
Again, thanks!

It should start pumping as soon as it has oil pressure ( unless your already at the unloaded cut out pressure). I have never heard your model of small pump running but, I can't imagine that it's very loud when running. My 390 is nice and quite when running and you can easily talk in a normal voice standing next to it. When it's unloaded there is even less sound coming from it. When I first got my compressor it was loud as hell and it turned out to be a very sloppy high side rod end.

The one in my original post is the quietest compressor I have ever owned. I have a 2-stage IR T30 that I thought was quiet, until I ran the old Quincy.

I just finished refurbishing a model 214, very similar to yours just smaller pistons. I had to soak the head to free up all the carbon that literally plugged it. I also had to replace the breather media in the unloader check valve (3 way shuttle valve that mounts on the side of the pump) because they were plugged and hardened. The quincy site has all the data you need under the QR series manuals. I can email you a forwarded copy of the PDF if you wish. Mine is one of the quietest I have heard, not bad for a pump made in 1979.
