Quincy compressor pump? Wisconsin ** hp engine id help

Hello, need some help on what I have here before I buy it. From the info I've gather on the web and here is that it has a Wisconsin 1 cylinder tank of an engine and maybe a quincy pump. Plate is not legible and wont be able to look for tags and numbers till removed from the bed of the truck its on. Any help before I pull the trigger and buy it will be appreciated. It has electric start and what looked like a 40-50 gallon tank.

The Wisconsin engine looks like a AENL and produced about 9.2 hp @3600rpm. I’m not sure of the external coil on it being that the Wico or Fairbanks Morse magneto already had a coil built internally. The engine model number is upper left on your ID tag with the bore and the engine stroke on the right. A Wisconsin AENLD was a later engine that had stelite valves with hardened valve seats that came about with the introduction of unleaded fuel ️

It turns over fine but the truck was out of gas. Owner said he had it running not long ago. He bought the 75 ford f250 truck to fix up and doesn't want to keep the compressor. It runs off the trucks fuel system and hasn't been used since 2001.. The plate is worn and couldn't make out info.This is the first external coil I've see being used from all the info I've found so far on the Wisconsin . Thanks for your input.

The letters and numbers are stamped on ID plate. A little soap and water with a old toothbrush might help see them. A flashlight held on a angle helps too[emoji6]

I tried the flash light trick yesterday with no luck. But from what I just learned, this might be the AEN 8.2 hp . The big ID tag is one of the signs of pre 60's Wisconsin.

Wisconsin offered distributor ignition. It was used on models with electric start and equipped with a generator. If this was an original installation on the F250, the engine may have been special ordered with electric start, distributor, and no generator because they intended to use the vehicle battery, which would be recharged by the truck electrical system.

I believe it starts and runs with truck engine off. It does run off the trucks battery.

Found this thats the closest I've found yet. Its described as a Quincy 240-6 air compressor.

I pulled the trigger on the compressor today and here's a couple of pictures. It's a 1947 NAT'L BD with a Quincy 325 and a Wisconsin AENLD. Anybody know what cfm it puts out? Didn't see any cfm info on the plate. Hopefully I made a good buy at $175. Will be give it a tune up before running again. Any advice on oil for pump and engine?

Good find! I would get a engine manual and a gasket set for starters. I wouldn’t run it until I drop the cast iron oil pan and remove oil pump and make sure those check balls are free on pump and clean pan and get a visual of the life of the engine. Sludge and metal shavings would be a bad thing. I occasionally go on Smok Stak and find it a good source of info especially under Wisconsin engine section. There are some good guys there that would be glad to help if your stumped on something. Good luck and yes we like pictures [emoji847]
