The building next to where I work has been cleaned out for a few weeks now, and it is scheduled for demo at some point. This Quincy will no doubt be thrown into the back of a dump truck along with the rest of the building.
What a waste....

I don't really have the room for a horizontal unit, and anyway I have a single phase 80 gallon 2 stage Champion in my garage so I'm ok for compressors. The Quincy would be an upgrade on that, but not a convenient one.

If you really want it, hang a note with your phone number on it. Or look on your county auditor's website, find out the owner's contact info, etc.

Yeah, I'd keep an eye on that building like a hawk and go ask the first person you see over there if you can have it.... Maybe offer a little $$$ to sweeten the deal

Looks to be a scroll or maybe a Roots(?) I'd have a run at it if I were near. As stated, don't steal it. Find someone who *you can say gave you permission* and hand them a Grant. put it on CL at least.

^^ yep. That compressor is worth exactly 100 bucks to the guy who shows up with an excavator to bring the place down.

Hey if you think that’s a waste back in the mid 90s I ran into a medic from the closing down Plattsburgh Air Force Base. He told me he’d spent the last 3 days chopping up millions of dollars of X Ray and diagnostic equipment, surgical and medical gear. Some of it was less than 3 years old. He said that stuff , an entire hospital of it was just being destroyed but would have been a godsend for some tiny rural or 3rd world hospital and it mad him sick doing it. Your tax [emoji389][emoji389][emoji389]at waste,............
As for your air compressor leave a note on it with your phone # and name. Offer to buy it........he will probably tell you to take it..........

I'm going to guess here....

...that only the tank is a Quincy.....

.....that looks a lot to me like a vacuum pump....

I'd look for some nameplates on the compressor-pumpey thing to confirm or dispel this notion.

My buddy has a commercial/industrial demo business and at times, it’s tuff for me to see what he just scraps. Back when he first started, he would keep some things, but it’s not worth his time or effort. They just methodically rip through sites in large excavators with buckets, claws and metal shear attachments. He’s demo’ing a power plant now and I was checking out the job site the weekend before last. I went home with a nice 3T beam trolley. I was also tempted to take an old gas powered welder that was there.
