All in all, it's no different than Chrysler foisting off the Mexican built 300 & the Italian built 200 & all the Mexican built Fords as "American" cars...

This is an old thread, but as far as I know the classic reciprocating compressors are still built in Quincy Illinois, at 3501 Wisman Lane (217) 277-0343. Since the 1960s the ownership of the company changed at least twice. I was born in Quincy. I'm not sure whether all the components are US made anymore. I think the Id plate will state whether the compressor was manufactured and shipped from Quincy Ill, or Bay Minette Alabama.

I called customer service about a week or so ago to get some info on my Quincy 212 and spoke with a very nice and knowledgeable older sounding gentleman in, of all places, Quincy IL! He assured me that if the local dealer couldnt, their customer service team could get almost any part I could need.

The US keeps borrowing money from other countries. The only way to get some of the money back is to sell them our stuff. Won't be long and everything here will be theirs.
