Ok guys been looking at options but can’t find anything comparing these three. I have a lead on a 90s Quincy qt-5 (3450 rpm), an older Kellogg 5hp unit can’t get model number but looks in great shape or I currently have a rebuilt Curtis d96 pump and tank that I need to add a motor onto. Vertical vs horizontal doesn’t matter to me. They are all over kill for my needs right now but never know what future brings. I’m just wanting something that will last and if need parts can get them.

Quincy I would say would have the best support in parts and in the technical support if and when needed.

Among those you are targeting, condition is more important than brand.

If you can’t run it before you buy it, consider it a rebuilable core, and pay accordingly.

I have a QT 7.5 and by 2003 the QT-5 and 7.5 were 3450 RPM motors. FWIW, there's an easy way to decode the date by the SN if the tag's still there

I had a service call handled by the local Quincy dealer. Quincy service is good. Besides the fact that the guy that came to my house at 9am was drunk.

I just bought a new QT-54 from Lowes of all places. It is $1299 and $149 for the Quincy ESP and oil. I have a LAR account with them so I got another 5% off that and they delivered to my house for $20. That is really tough to beat IMO.

Qunicy QT-54 is popular. FS Curtis and Ingersol Rand also have single phase 230 Volt two-stage compressors. Dewalt too but I'd prefer a Qunicy, Curtis or IR. Less familiar with FS Curtis how is their quality vs Quincy, IR or other compressor brands? I"ve heard the fu sheng part of FS Curtis makes some of the pumps.

FS-Curtis CT5 5-HP 60-Gallon Two-Stage Air Compressor (230V 1-Phase)

Quincy QT-54 Pro 5-HP 60-Gallon Two-Stage Air Compressor (230V 1-Phase)

Ingersoll Rand Type 30 5-HP 60-Gallon Two-Stage Air Compressor (230V 1-Phase)

DeWalt 5-HP 60-Gallon Two-Stage Air Compressor (230V 1-Phase)

Harder to find made in USA vs assembled in the USA with foreign and domestic parts. FS Curtis is owed by Taiwan based Fu Sheng, Ingersol Rand is an Irish company, Quincy is part of Sweden based Atlas Copco, and DeWalt aka Black and Decker is US based and assembled in the US from foreign and domestic parts.
