Quincy QT-5 Factory Second

I live close to Quincy Il and have the opportunity to buy a freight damaged QT-5 compressor with mag starter for $1300.00 no tax. Freight damage consists of scratched paint. Could also buy QT-7.5 for $1650.00. I will NOT have a warranty.

Will they power it up so your verify that everything works and builds pressure?

Where is the damage to the paint, because I would check to make sure the belt guard isn't bent or deformed into the flywheel, or any of the copper tubing from the pump discharge to the tank isn't damaged.

A QT-5 normally sells for like $2,200
A QT-7.5 normally sells for like $2,500

I would inspect the damage very carefully, and ask if they at least have a DOA warranty.
