Anyone have an idea what an old Quincy vacuum pump is worth?

Many will say WTF is that? Yes, I've been asked. Well, think of an air compressor minus the tank and motor. You're left with the pump and pulley.

The data tag says

Model R17 and 10 is stamped
32492 VAC
Size 4x2.5

I contacted Quincy and the verifies its a vacuum pump. It has a 14" diameter pulley and the pump from base to top of head is 14"

The shaft diameter looks like 1"

Worth anything?

Thanks!

Yes, Quincy builds vacuum pumps too.

What's it worth? Put it on ebay and find out!

Well, that was proven some years ago.

Ah, ebay. The vampire of selling avenues...

Better to set it by the curb.

What did you ever decide the setup was worth? I just came across an IR T30 Vacuum Pump. It's an older one and the current owner says he has been using it as a compressor. Seems to me that the "conversion" could not be that simple! Plumb the pump output to a tank??? (plus the pressure switch, blowoff valve, etc, of course.)

Depend on how low it will pull, it it can pull 29, it might be worth couple dollars but if it cant pull that low then its worthless

Hello boys .... the R17 vacuum pump is used on most shallow oil wells to decrease
the hole pressure . And used in good working condition will sell for $500 all day long .

It can be used as an air compressor too. Just put an air filter on it and pipe from the discharge port to a receiver. It usually requires twice the horsepower to turn a compressor than it does a vacuum pump. You might have to get another motor.

Although the Quincy people were of little help, I found a very good use for my friends older R15 or R17 pump that he was going to scrap.
