Quincy VS Eaton Air Compressors

I see an old post from 2010 comparing these two compressor manufactures and looking for current opinions and experience. It appears the Eaton has a better overall warranty. I will be working on cars, have a sandblaster and a full size paint booth. I doubt it will all ever run at the same time. Thanks in advance for the help.

I am leaning towards this one. https://www.eatoncompressor.com/7.5hp%20Two%20Stage%20Industrial%20Plus%20Series/7-5hp-v4-single-phase-80-gallon-vertical-air-compressor

The Eaton's are a Taiwan import version of a Saylor Beall 707 pump. The tried and true Saylor Beall 707 has been around since at least the 1960's as is still sold today. Reciprocating compressor pump engineering hasn't changed much in te last several decades. The one thing that has happened with air compressors is that rotary screw pumps are much more common today than they were years ago. So, if you're looking for value priced for a home shop the Eaton is probably fine. If you are looking at hard use, industrial grade, or want more U.S.A. made content look towards a Champion R30 or genuine Saylor Beall 707 compressor. Quincy made its name on the QR series pumps. The QT series you find at farm and ranch stores for $2000-2400 is not in the same league. They spin fast and are noisy. If you are sandblasting or painting cars you need to factor in cool, dry air. So look towards the after cooler option and a compressed air drier. The air drier is particularly important for painting. I have a pair of Champion R15 pump compressors and another two 60 gallon tanks which serve as extra water collection points. They don't cool the air as low as an air dier would, but they work well enough that I don't get condensate to of my high flow grinders which use 30-35 SCFM.

I've got an Eaton, I've been very satisfied with it. Bodywork is hard on a compressor and mine hasn't given me any trouble other than changing the oil lol. It runs 2 DAs with ease when I have a helper, I've before sandblasted full days with few breaks, it's been going strong since 2011 I believe. Before that I had smaller 60 gallon single stage pump compressors and compared to my 80 gallon Eaton were junk!

Thanks to you both for the input. It helps me decide and hopefully others as well. For me it comes down to cost and use so the balance would be the 7.5hp Vertical Compressor | Polar Air by Eaton. Have a great weekend and thanks again.
