Qunicy QT-5 from Lowe’s

I’m thinking of getting the Quincy QT-5. Choices seem to be from NorthernTool, Aircompressors direct, or Lowe’s. I was thinking it might be easier to deal with Lowe’s but curious as to opinions or experiences.

2nd question - it appears the Lowe’s model has the mag starter but without the start/stop switch. I’d like to be able to turn it off when I’m not around, to air down, etc. without going out to breaker box. (This is for a garage, hobby, wasting $ application - not a business). Looking at the schematics it seems the stop switch is just a switch in-line with the pressure switch providing power to mag starter coil. Any reason I couldn’t add an appropriately sized switch to turn off?

thanks for advice!

Don't buy it from any of them. Quincy, still makes great air compressors. The QT-5 series certainly isn't one of them. I'd go with Eaton/Polar Air. Best bang for the buck.
