We were being overrun with '***** the last couple years. I found a guy that will take the live ones to his woods to train his dogs. I was giving him a couple dozen every year, if not more. About a month ago, he told me a "neighbor" of mine a mile or two up the road (we're in the country) took a picture of his feed lot with at least 50 dead ***** that the neighbor had shot. Since then, I've only had one or two come by.
They were eating the cow 'dung', I guess for the corn? They were breeding left and right up there, and I'm glad the guy took care of them, as now I have less. When I catch a possum, I let it go, as they eat ticks, mice, etc., and they only sometimes dig for grubs.
I had a mother **** and maybe 4 young ones that were really sly, not setting off the live traps, but eating the dog food in them. I used the malrin, and got the mother and one kit, and three possums and one coyote. The small animals were easier to get rid of than the large one. I piled firewood on top of it and cremated it. It was already getting stinky after just a day or two. No more of using that stuff.
