I am wanting to install (or have someone install) a Race Deck floor system in my single bay garage. The problem is that I have a single post Bend Pak lift in the way. So I have 2 questions...

1) Can these be tiles be cut around the single post lift?
2) When the lift is lowered down, Will the base of the lift damage the tiles?

THANKS,
Jeff

The tiles cut easily so that should be easy. Can't answer the question about the lift base sitting on the tiles part though, my 4-post lift is on top of the tiles since I did not want to cut them and it has not caused any problems at all. But you said yours is a single post, it all depends on big the areas pushing on the tiles are. I have had indentations from small casters but large casters did not harm the tiles at all. If the base is flat then it should work just fine, these tiles can take a LOT of weight when its flat.

Yes you can easily cut the RaceDeck for a professional look around a single or two post lift. There is no need to cut for a four post lift as the weight will have no impact on the RaceDeck flooring. The base of your lift, if like most on the market, will not harm the flooring, the arms tend to be flat and wide. If you go to our site you can find many pictures of various lifts in garages. http://www.racedeck.com

Jorgen,

Do you have installers in the Dallas area?

Jeff

Check out my post. I installed my RaceDeck floor myself with the help of my 34 yr old son and 86 yr old father-in-law.

440 sq ft with edges cut to fit took just under 3 hours. Why pay an installer?

I have a idea for my garage. I'm in the process of buying a two post lift and tiles. (Race Deck, unless I can find a lower cost tile that has a good as quality. Pretty expensive)

Anyway, I thought of laying down the tiles, setting the lift just about where I want it, and since the footprint is 12" sq., either remove those tile's (if I'm lucky) or cut the tile around the post. Which I'm sure the latter.

Know what I mean Vern.
