Race Deck cleaning option

Ladies and Gents,

After quite a bit of trial and error, I think I have found a very good option for cleaning race deck that I haven't seen mentioned for those of us that abuse our floor. I've tried a lot of different options from degreasers, to straight up spraying brake cleaner (it works, but it's not a viable option), ammonia/mop, acetone (don't) and a concrete spinning power sprayer head.

The best option I have found is Zep driveway and concrete cleaner, I tried it in a very, very conspicuous area with a messed up tile that I was willing to replace. It brought my brown tinged silver back to silver and gave it luster. It didn't give me a head ache working with it either. It doesn't say specifically what is in it, but given the luster and the cat being a bit insane after I was done, I think it probably has some ammonia.

Initially, I tried it in a large sprayer with the floor wet and it diluted 5:1 and hit it with a deck brush. My hand got tired so I chucked it into the foam cannon (it foams very well) and coated the race deck. Scrubbed a bit with a deck brush some more, let it sit for 5-10, and power sprayed it with a 25 degree afterwards.

No pics because I'm lazy and I don't even know what hosting site to use anymore.

Just another option for those who want more clean with less work, and for only $9 per gallon I should be able to do the driveway, sidewalk and porch with the rest of it. I only have silver tiles, so if you plan to do it yourself and have different colors, I would probably do a test spot in a corner or something.

I will update this post if it dries and it turns out the tiles are ruined.

Nice find, I was about to try a rinseless car wash.

I actually used zep floor cleaner the last time I did it, it didn't do much innthe heavily soiled areas and man was it a dust magnet post clean!

My issue is it's my basement garage and power washing is out of thr question since it'd about 50ft deep where the floor is.

50' deep! Holy hell.

I'm not sure it would be worth the effort unless it was a once yearly type deal, but you could always use a "concrete cleaning head" attachment to keep the spray localized and have a shop vac to follow up with.

After a full day, the luster isn't really there on the tiles. They look the same now as they did before, as I was cleaning though they seemed to have quite a bit more shine where I had used the driveway cleaner than the other wet spots. I was hopeful, but at least it's a pretty clean floor and it didn't turn them straight dull and like, purple, which is what the acetone did.

I'll keep an eye on dust and report back but so far I am pleased and will probably keep that stuff around in the arsenal.

Mid shot to the door, it's a drying concern more then anything for me. Yeah I don't do it regularly, I spot clean a lot, but try and do a full blown once or twice a year.

My tile is pretty beat up, racedeck. It has some paint on it from a painting project and it doesn't come up without a harsh chemical. I'm thinking about a floor scrubber, the ones for polishing floors with a slightly and I mean slightly more aggressive pad.. I don't mind if the tile gets a little scratched, right now it looks a little sad between stains and some paint spray.. Anyone else done a major recovery on a floor tile like race deck ? (race deck recommended soap and water which does nothing, brake cleaner doesn't remove stains, I literally have to "sand" off the paint that stuck)

Thinking of a pad like this

on this type of machine

A floor scrubber is going to scratch the **** out of those tiles. Try using some diluted Citristrip to spot clean and see how that does.
