Race Deck Floor Ordered Today! Now Installed!!

Hi-

Been reading posts in this forum for about 4 months and finally decided on Race Deck flooring. Garage is new 3 bay with a shop area in the back of the single bay. Total 840 square foot. Did a combination of diamond black and blue around the perimeter and free flow graphite and black in the center. Will post pics when completed.

Been waiting for this a long time!!! Attached the design. Stoked!!!

NICE DESIGN. It will be beautiful!

Just get that first corner at the offset lined up before you cut anything. Make sure it lands like you want it, even if it means shifting your front tile slightly into the garage. They have great tech support. If you have an issue, just call them.

Thanks Justin! Agreed we will have to adjust due to the 40" offset between the small bay and the large bay. They relieved the concrete floor where the doors are- so we have 40" difference to deal with.

With 40", that left me with trying to make up 4". Since RD offers 3" bevels and 1 3/4" bevels in black, we plan to use the 1 3/4 bevel on the small side and use the 3" on the large side - bringing it out and additional 1 1/4 inch. Still leaves me with 2 3/4 exposed on the main garage, but I do not see any other way to do it.

Open to suggestions!

Hi-

There is no one perfect pattern, it boils down to what looks good to you. I would use Race Decks's on line design tool - although I took it a step further in Excel.

I have the Rubbermaid Garage Cabinets, so they will be very easy to move when I lay the floor.

Cool design, you might want to align the checkers...move the left group up by one square.. Still should be the same amount.

Good catch!! I wrestled with that- but in the end decided I wanted the garage entries from the doors to be the same. The dual black and blue line of tiles in between the two sections breaks it up enough for the eye not to catch the mismatch.

The floor looks wonderful! When you get the tiles down, the garage looks like a totally different place. I know when we got the tiles put down in our garage it made the garage looked "finished" instead of like an ordinary garage. It is kind of hard to explain, but when you get the tiles down and you take a good look at the floor, you wonder how you ever got along without it.

Speaking of racedeck, I have a platform lift (atlas kwik bay 7000), is it a good idea to put race deck on the entire floor then basically lay the lift on top of it? (It's heavy, may crush it), or basically have a cutout (untiled) that the lift will sit in.

That's a really great question! I was planning on buying a 4 post lift and setting the lift pads directly on top of the Race Deck. Anyone with experience with this - please comment.

I personally have a large 4 post lift in my garage ( 8,000 lb cap) and it rests right on top of RaceDeck... Thousands of RaceDeck customers also have 4 post lifts on their floors with no issues at all

like this garage with a nice heavy Tesla on top
