Race Deck Floor with a 4 post lift question

Hi Folks, Garry here from East Wenatchee WA. I am new to the forum and looking forward to additional interaction with you all!

I am going to be installing, likely a BendPak HD-9 4 post lift and want to put a Race Deck floor in as well. I am thinking of installing the lift first and then cutting the tiles that need it to an exact fit around the four post feet. Is this what you all suggest? Thinking a black and white checkered with red boundary and a black entry edge at the door opening.

Would appreciate your thoughts please?

Welcome Garry. I have a race Deck FreeFlow floor in my garage. Love it. I don't have a lift but if you use the "search" option here I believe this has been discussed before. Good luck. CJDave.

What are you concerned about? The floor should go in first. The lift is not going to damage the floor or move.

Doesn't the weight crush the flooring? I just assumed you'd cut holes in it

is your floor sloped? I was in the same situation last year and due to my floor slope I didn't want the lift slowly moving so I bolted it down and cut the tiles to go around the base plates.

No it won’t crush the tiles. Most residential garage floors (including mine in the photo) are sloped. The lift doesn’t slide.

The photo is deceiving. It is a 2.5" curb.

Looks awesome Jorgen! Hey, question for you please; Like all overhead garage doors, the guide rails stand out from the wall either side of the door opening over a couple of inches. I want to install the ramp edges at the door opening, but if I'm thinking correctly that would keep the first coarse of RD tiles to cause an area of concrete showing at the walls either side of the door opening by the width of the ramp edges + the distance from the door to the guide rails. How do you deal with this condition to not have too much concrete showing? One thing I can think of to hide some of it would be to install ramp edges the whole width of the garage, as in door opening plus walls either side of the door? What are your thoughts? Hope that made sense!
