Why should the price be a secret, does everybody pay a different price. Other flooring vendors do not keep it a secret. When I contacted Race Deck about a price a year ago they beat around the bush, I just wanted a price but that was not so simple so I went to another flooring vendor.

I believe the reason they offered for the price discretion was that they do also have other vendors selling their products which they don't want to publicly undercut. This is what i remember from purchasing mine a couple years ago. Garage Journal members get a set price which is discounted from their advertised retail price. Well worth it based on my personal experience.

Yes - I just received an email quote from RD - but there was no discount even though I mentioned Garage Journal in my request.

Do I have to call them to get a better deal?

I installed this on Saturday and am very pleased with it. I stole some inspiration from others here for the design. The tiles went down quick and I didn't have any issues. I am still sore from having to move the cabinets as well as all the other junk we have accumulated over the years. I need to do two oil changes this weekend so that will be a good test. We will see how it does over the winter.

Looks great. Did you seal the concrete before laying the tile down, or did you lay it down over bare concrete? I know in Iowa, you get lots of snow and salt.

Are those all free flow tiles? Is that black or is there another color in there?

how often do you need to wipe it down? Does the flooring get a lot of foot prints from dust and dirt on it?

My tiles are lighter in color than those red and black because I needed the UV-resistant version. All my dogs and I walk on them daily, I only now and then clean them. Like, once a year for a really good clean. It is possible that the darker [black] would show dust more, but I can't say. In my case, not an issue.

I installed Racedeck a couple years ago in my current shop after fighting with VCT till I was blue in the face.
The staff at Racedeck gave me a good price as a member of this forum with no hassle at all.
I have been so pleased with their product, I am about to build a new house and shop and the buyer of my current house wants to buy my flooring (I had planned to take it with me).
So, I called and again the Racedeck team were very helpful with answering my questions and pricing.
You can't go wrong with Racedeck if you want a flooring that looks great, super easy to maintain, durable and easy to put down.

Just my 2 cents.

Cheers!

I'm planning on using a RaceDeck floor in my garage and I'm not sure if I should go with the solid/diamond or with the free flow.

In the summer months it would be nice to have the free flow so dirt and debris fall through and I can vacuum it up later. Water drainage also would be a nice benefit.

In the winter months though I'll be storing my car and I think the solid flooring would be better protection from moisture coming up through the concrete.

In the past I've put down a tarp as a moisture barrier when parking the car for the winter. Is it common for people to lay down a thin sheet of waterproof material before installing free flow tiles? For me that would be the best of both worlds, otherwise I may just end up going with the solid tiles with diamond pattern.

Looking for some recommendations or advice please :)

I answered a few of your questions below within your quote. Thanks for considering RaceDeck

I'm planning on using a RaceDeck floor in my garage and I'm not sure if I should go with the solid/diamond or with the free flow. JORGEN> WITH RACEDECK YOU CAN USE BOTH STYLES WITHIN ONE FLOOR, WHICH REALLY OPENS UP THE OPTIONS FOR YOU.

In the summer months it would be nice to have the free flow so dirt and debris fall through and I can vacuum it up later. Water drainage also would be a nice benefit. JORGEN> BOTH THE FREEFLOW AND DIAMOND ARE FULL-SUSPENSION FLOOR SYSTEMS THAT HAVE BUILT IN DRAINAGE. WITH THE FREEFLOW BEING AN OPEN RIB, YOU GET A BIT MORE AIR CIRCULATION.

JORGEN> I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND PUTTING A WATER-PROOF SHEET UNDER THE RACEDECK FLOORING TO TRAP MOISTURE COMING UP FROM THE CONCRETE. WITH RACEDECK BEING CHANNELED, IT ALLOWS FOR AIR, MOISTURE AND LIQUIDS TO FLOW FREELY. IF YOU WERE TO PUT ANYTHING UNDER THE FLOOR, I WOULD SAY SOME SORT OF BREATHABLE SYNTHETIC SHEET.

How does Racedeck hold up to jack/jack stands? I do everything from weld to pull motors/build motors in mine. My dad has the decking above but does not work in that garage. His 2nd one gets the abuse.

Thanks for your help answering my questions, I decided to go with the diamond racedeck and just finished placing my order with Ashley over the phone. Here's what I went with for my final layout. Just a small single car storage garage, but it should make a world of difference to how it looks.

Can't wait for the floor to arrive! :)
