We are almost finished w/ our new RaceDeck floor. They have been a pleasure to deal with. Anyhow, my question is what is the best method you've found to clean it. Not asking about the cleaning solution as much as type of mop. Do you use a sponge mop or rag style? I've read someone here uses a towel to clean it.....

I hope you like it as much as we do. ;)

I have racedeck in my 3 car garage. I bought it about 7 years ago or so for our last home. Took it up when we moved and re-installed it.

I live in Chicagoland so it gets pretty dirty this time of the year.

Every Spring I will sweep it out to get all the loose dirt up. I then go over it with warm water by using a regular old fashion string mop.

After that I get down on my hands and knees and clean it with warm water and Mr clean. I just use a large old bath towel and large bucket.

For areas that are a bit more stubborn I clean it with those Magic Erasers. They work awesome.

I also found that Racedeck sells a product called "rejuvenate" or something close to that. It basically takes an old floor and gives it that new floor luster.

You wont need that for along time since your floor is new.

All in all I probably spend 4 hours giving it the Spring cleaning. Over the rest of the year I just sweep and use the mop.

Your floor looks great by the way

in my old house I would just buy a gallon of lacquer thinner and scrub it as quick as I could to avoid the fumes, the problem is that oil and grease get caught up in the diamond plate part and you have to scrub in both directions. It really stank and gave me headaches sometimes but it was the only way to clean up the oil/grease that was on them. I did it about once a year.

I moved last year and only put my floor down in the last few weeks, I cleaned the tiles with simple green before putting them down (oil got lacquer thinner) and after the floor was down used the Racedeck cleaner, it did not seem to work any better than simple green as to getting things off but the tiles seem shinier. I was going to use rejuvinate on the tiles but the daughters boyfriend broke his transfer case while offroading so we rebuilt that instead and now the tiles are greasy again. Cleaning the tiles is a pain but it is so worth it when I turn the lights on.

In this new garage I am leaving the area under the lift bare concrete, too much oil/grease comes off under the lift, it will allow me to keep the rest of the garage looking pretty good most of the time.

All I've had to do so far is push broom it, but I know it'll need some kind of mopping eventually. I'll give the rag type mop a try.

Thanks for the tip on the Magic Eraser and the compliment TONE!

Sounds like the lacquer thinner is a last resort. I'll try Simple Green when the time comes. Thanks for the info mikeyr!

Hey can someone let me know which particular Simple Green product they use to clean the Race Deck tiles with ? Looking on their website - not really sure which one to use. Also their BBQ cleaner is great for cleaning the Grill / BBQ.

I use the general purpose sometimes on my RaceDeck.

However, it leaves it sorta dull. It gets it clean and is a great product.

I recommend the Racedeck rejuvenate highly after a good cleaning.

I just bought one of these microfiber mops from Costco. I think it will work great for cleaning the RaceDeck tiles :). Can be used wet or dry. I'll let you all know how it works.

So far, I've only had to vacuum the floor.....guess I need to get it dirty so I can test the mop LOL.
