Racedeck design input request - tiles have arrived

Okay I have "I think" come up with my final design, I am looking for input from folks that have installed and used this floor in the past.

My two main concerns were:
- The 2 cars that are stored/use this garage both have 700r4 transmissions. Anyone that has owned vehicles with this transmission know that they randomly like to spit fluid all over the floor. For this reason I went with the solid tiles under the vehicles.
- I need some drainage for the winter months, for snow blower storage/use

With those 2 things in mind here is my design:
(Top being the door side, though its pretty much a 18x20 rectangle minus some weird jut on the right rear)



Basically the outer 3 feet are free flow all the way around the garage, I have tools/bench along the entire left side of the garage to the tune of 2 foot. I thought of only using the free flow for the first 3 ft inside the door, but talk of sun expansion etc, lead me to just run it all the way around.

How do folks that work in the garage find dropping random screws in the free flow? Easy to retrieve or no?

I like the design.. The FreeFlow and FreeFlow XLC have pretty small openings on the top grid and most screws do not fall through, if they do, it's really easy to pop out a tile and retrieve it. I have a similar combo of RaceDeck diamond and freeflow in my own garage

Mine is all Free Flow and a small magnet and a hemostat seem to retrieve anything that falls through the slots. Dave R.

I swear that designer is the devil...lol...every single time I visit I end up with something else. I will be in contact in the next couple of days for an order. I will try and post pics of the install, and what Rustoleum Epoxycoat looks like after 12 years in Ontario.

Love my Racedeck. Why didn't I think of freeflow around the perimeter? I only did two rows in the front and the rest solid. I may be placing a new order.

I like the design - a lot - but consider doing 4x4 tiles of the same color for the checkerboard pattern in the middle. These tiles are pretty small at 12"x12", and doing a single-tile checkerboard pattern in that large of a space is going to be VERY busy on the eyes. The 4x4 is a great compromise and is done a lot here, including in my avatar pic to the left of this message, which is my ol' garage.

It has arrived! Of course I had to get a better idea what it will look like, so I broke some out for a look.



Thats 10 year old Rustoleum Epoxy there on the floor now. Wasnt about to grind that up and recoat.

Of course that was the easy part.......



Now comes the fun part.....emptying out the garage to clean and complete the install!
