RaceDeck Edge Dilemma

OK RaceDeck pros, I’ve got a dilemma. Laying my floor down in a three car shop, thus two doors; one big door, one small door. I started in the corner by the big door and worked across. With the 3” edge pieces, the front row aligns and sits perfectly where I want it along the door AND the depth of the garage. The small garage door side is staggered since the front of the garage is not flush all the way across. It sits back a bit from the face of the garage and from where the big door is. No big deal...except....

I’ll have to do some cutting to go around a corner and down the row at the garage door. This means I’ll need to cut off the end of the tile with the male clips to make it fit perfect like the other door. Down side? Now I lose my male clips needed to attach the trim pieces to.

Option...on the big door side of the garage, I could cut 5” off the other end of the garage so that I can slide the whole entire floor aft 5”. That will fix the small door dilemma, but now I’ll have a 3.5” gap on the big door side, and a significant amount of cutting on the opposite end of the floor to accommodate the shift.

Both options ****.

First, and biggest question...if I have to cut off the male clip end of the tiles, is there any possible way or option to attach the trim pieces along that door opening??

Clearly I’m not the first person to ever run into this situation.

Do folks just leave the flooring edge alone where it runs along a garage door opening? For now, I don’t want to do the cutting to make the 5” shift, nor do I want that much old floor showing on the front end of the garage. Uuggg.

@RaceDeck1 ...email sent.

Photos included here also, but I can add more if needed. Once I continue on around this corner and around the garage door track, if I don’t trim the tiles, the tile will stick outside the door when closed. Thus the need to trim a few inches off for a perfect fit. Not a huge deal except for losing my make clips and the ability to attach the edge pieces.

Update...I’ve been in the garage measuring, remeasuring, and checking. I was off on my original numbers and need to shift the flooring back 7” to make the next row of tile fit the second garage door without any cutting. That would leave a pretty good gap of uncovered concrete between the tiles and the garage door in front of the big door. Have decided I don’t want to live with that. So, I will have just tile and no edge trim pieces in front of the small door until we come up with an alternate solution on how to attach the edge pieces without any male clips. I’m sure it’s been done.

If not having a perfect pattern across the whole floor didn't bother you, It looks like the tiles have the ability to be staggered. Of course this would create a definite line between the doors. Running two rows of the same color where the stagger was would help hide the shift.

That's EXACTLY the way my garage doors are. Will be laying out mine in a few days. Will see how it all lines up, but will probably need the fix also

They got back to me and there’s a gluing/adhesive option they’re gonna hook me up with. Perfect. Works for me.

That should do the trick, they just showed me what you are trying to do. We offer that on a lot of large custom installations and it works great

Could 1 of you post what this is so I could get a price on it. I called and they didn't know what I needed.

All it turned out to be was the edging that doesn’t have any clips on it. It just has a lip that slides under the flooring. You run a bead of liquid nail along the lip and slide it up against the tiles. Not near as nice as the actual edging that snaps into place, but better than not doing anything. Pics OTW.
