I am considering RaceDeck flooring for my garage and read that I need to leave 1/4 inch space on each side for expansion of the tiles when warm. I am going to tile a section that is 18 feet wide (the other bay is separated by a wall from "my" space ), so I will need to trim 1/4 inch off each tile on both sides (or 1/2 inch off of one if I feel lazy). Is this what others have done? Is it really necessary to leave the expansion space in a northern climate like Toronto? Thanks in advance for any advice provided...

Hi
The size of the space on the outer walls really depends on a few things.

As you mention, you should have very little issues in a northern climate like Toronto. "BUT" if when you open the door and you have full sun shining in during the summer, you may need to have adequate space along the walls.

There are ways to hide the gap - You can always put a cove base with a lip just above the floor surface after installation.

Feel free to call us anytime to to ask for installation tips & help -

Hi
We usually ship UPS as they are much more customer friendly. Our costs with them are very low as we are one of the largest LTL shippers in Utah.
We ship in boxes of 48 plus whatever smaller size box is needed to round up order
Thanks
