I installed my new RaceDeck floor this weekend. The installation for the 24' by 27' space took around 4 hours to complete and was very straight forward and easy. I am very pleased in the change to the overall appearance of my garage. My hat is off to the crew at RaceDeck for making such a fine product. The entire process from design, ordering and installation was an awesome experience.

How does this flooring perform with moving tool boxes, floor jacks, loaded engine stands, car dollies etc.?

Floor looks great. Love the cabinets. What brand are they and where can I buy them?

You read my mind! I'd like to know about the cabinets, too. I'd also like to know how loud it is when walking on or rolling things around on the floor.

Thanks for all the compliments. The cabinets came from Premier Garage. As far as the noise walking etc, there is a slight amount more than the bare concrete, but not enough to cause any bother.

Just fine, not a issue at all unless your loaded engine stand has really small metal casters on it, then it will dimple the floor a little but any normal sized caster will be fine. Floor jacks have never left a mark on mine.

Floor looks great! As does the whole garage!

What did you do to cover the gap along the walls? Couldn't tell if you used vinyl cove base or?

A large part of the floor edge is covered by the cabinets, so nothing was done there. The left side of the garage has a small stem wall before the drywall starts, so I ran the racedeck up to the concrete and just left a small gap there. I was concerned about what to do with the edges, however once the floor is down, the gap really isn't noticed. But I do believe that vinyl cove or oversize base boards would do the trick.

Mind some dumb questions?

How thick are the "tiles"? Are there cambered tiles that could be used to add slope to a floor?

Do liquids stay on top of the flooring or run through to the concrete below?

You mentioned noise in an earlier post. Do these floors absorb sound, reflect it?

Thanks!

As far as the thickness of the tiles and sloping, I'll leave that to the folks at RaceDeck. The noise I mentioned is from walking or rolling items over the surface. It's kinda like the sound you get from Pergo flooring. Liquids do stay on the tiles due to the tight fit. I imagine if you spilled a large volume of liquid and left it for an extended period of time some would seep down to the concrete.

The cost for my garage including the edging was $2100 for 650 square feet.

The longer I have this floor down the more I love it. I highly recommend RaceDeck to anyone considering the snap-loc style flooring for their garage.

I got some samples yesterday, really sweet looking and so simple to click together. Now I
have to convince 'the boss' and rob a bank :)

Dude,

Looks great. When it comes time to move you can take your floor with you...that's kind of cool.
