Well the floor was delivered and I installed it with a few friends in no time. So far I LOVE it...great product...thanks Jorgen. and the service from both the factory and my local dealer Gifford Frost from the Garage Center in MD were great to work with. I would highly recommend them both.

Looks great! Especially with the red walls. Those are the colors I would have chosen too. Not too over the top. And bigger squares look better too, IMO. Nice job.

pwm, how large are your squares? Are they 2 foot squares made up of 4 tiles? Thanks, Bob

As far as spills, I assume if left on the tiles for an extended period, it MIGHT seep into the cracks, but honestly, I was suprised how tightly they seem to fit together. It is one of the reasons I went with RaceDeck over another less expensive brand I also looked at. When you actually snap the RaceDeck tiles together, it seems to draw the tiles in tighter together. The other tiles I looked at did not do that and left a noticibly larger gap between tiles.

Bob, the tiles themselves are 12"x12" squares and yes, I put them together in groups of four tiles for the larger square look, so yes, the squares are 2'x2'.

Daye, I would suggest contacting your local retailer or RaceDeck1 here on this board regarding pricing. I did also get a 10% Garage Journal discount!

I would say that they are maybe 3/8" thick and they are hard rigid plastic, not soft, but I am sure they are more anti-fatigue than standing on regular concrete.

Not sure how they would hold up to welding...they are plastic afterall. Maybe a question better posed to RaceDeck1 (the owner of the company).

Yeah... You'll like it til' winter rolls around and it is always wet in there. Also if the sun shines on it it will start to crinkle up.

You can't weld on them, my Racedeck has all kinds of burn marks and I still love the floor.

Oil is not a problem at all, the tiles are pretty tight and oil wont seep unless its a really light weight oil or you leave it there for weeks or more. I guess I will know in about 3 weeks when I pick up my Racedeck and move, its been down about 6 years now.

XR80, not sure what you mean about always wet in there, its been fine 5 winters now and its always nicer to lay on my back under the car then the bare concrete. Yes, it does lift a little here and there in full sun but not a problem.

Have I mentioned yet that my Racedeck was the second best purchase I made for my garage, I love the floor. It has problems, like all floors do and for me its the limitations it threw on me for welding/plasma cutting and general metal work but when I move you can bet I will have Racedeck down in my new garage also (this time I will leave a 10x10 area bare concrete for welding).

Welding is a tough one for any surface. I vintage race and quite often we have to weld for repairs or ad-on items. We simply use a welding blanket and have no issue.
RaceDeck will pit or melt if chunks of red hot molten drip/splatter on it, just as PVC flooring will and even epoxy can get burn marks. The good news is that if you do mess up a spot on your RaceDeck floor, you can easily replace the tile to look new again.
