Hi all,

got my racedeck in -looks amazing. I'd like to get a robot to vacuum and maybe even mop the floors in the garage. I've used them on a tiled floor in a condo i used to live in and it worked well. I also like the idea of a robot running under the cars and the cabinets doing the cleaning.

Anyone doing this? its been a few years since i used a robot this way so would love recommendations. Would like to have a robot that returns to its base station rather than one that you have to find when its done.

thanks!

I did not find it functional for a garage

Be my luck that I would back over the Robot.

TIP! Just get a flooring dust mop and go over the floor once a week...... Or use a leaf blower for leaves and larger debris.

I have 2 iRobot Dirt Dog robots. Pretty old, no vacuum just brushes, pretty high maintenance with gears wearing out but works very well on epoxy floor. Amazing how much dirt and debris they pick up and that washer that rolled away.

I bought a vacuum and mopping robot on Amazon and have been using it in the garage a few times. It works well and removes small bits of detritus, leaves, etc. The mopping feature is just okay, but it’s good enough to remove the dust left by my tires on my Swisstrax smoothtrax tiles.

These things are so cheap, you can’t go wrong. We have two different types on three levels of our house, each level having its own robot and, because of our two cats and dog, we find that these robots are huge timesavers. One of them has a beater brush that scoops up stuff pretty well it’s ideal for our basement that is mostly carpeted. However, it lacks a laser tracking system so that you can designate a zone for it to stay out of. I don’t think anyone makes one with a beater brush that has a laser system in the price range I’m looking for, but I’ll admit that I am still shopping for the ideal one.

Regardless, I just can’t say enough good things about these little robots.
